Study pastoral narrative therapy

Pastoral Narrative Therapy offers the unique combination of studies in pastoral care and counselling that also fully qualifies as narrative therapy. It is the kind of narrative therapy that allows for meaning-making that includes people’s stories of faith without forcing it or having a secret agenda. It is respectful, adventurous and empowering.

A story spanning two decades

Coram Deo has been in operation for more than eighteen years. With a focus on a narrative approach Coram Deo has been training pastoral and narrative therapists for more two decades. But the programme is definitely not restricted to students who want to formally study counselling.

From all walks of life

Students undertake the journey with us either wanting, in the end, to build a private practice, or simply to be more equipped in their role as leader, manager, teacher, or any other profession or role that deals with people. Among these one can count parents or friends who grab the opportunity to grow in listening, encouraging, and caring for those around them and in their community.

Little do they know, as so many students tell us, that the journey will transform and renew their own lives by offering ways to work with and give meaning to their own stories and experiences in life.

Participants can join us as part of the intake for the next journey to start, usual by the end of January/ beginning February. There are several places across South Africa to study locally (depends on annual intake in the area) or as part of the interactive online video community that meets weekly.
