Looking for space to set up a private practice, a small business office or for ad hoc co-location work?

With the main office situated in Pretoria, Coram Deo is a pastoral counselling and national narrative therapy training centre in existence for the past 20 years. The space is available at the head office in Centurion, Pretoria. The person joining us will be able to choose from a number of rooms that they can then fit how they want or use available furniture.

Specifics and included

  • We have one, possibly two, offices to let from March or if taking earlier occupation at the rate for the days used;
  • The letting rate is R225 per square meter (slightly negotiable). The office is approximately 12 square meters which is suitable to use as office and counselling room. However, there are a number of rooms that could be considered to swap based on the need expressed by the person. This will decrease/increase the monthly rate;
  • Additional space (e.g., groups/ workshops/ one-way mirror for social work IA) is available to rent on first come first serve basis at
    • a reduced rate of 10% per event (if renting at R2700), or
    • usual market rates (if renting at rate below R2700)
  • The agreement includes foyer hospitality, coffee/tea, sugar, milk;
  • Telephone and internal extension-number to the room (no call charges based on a fair use basis);
  • The room currently has a desk, chair, open bookshelf. It is otherwise unfurnished and the person is welcome to give the space its own identity;
  • Cleaning services included;
  • Internet (WiFi), free of charge with a fair use policy;
  • Gated parking and front door access control with keypad;
  • Basic reception during the mornings (08:30-13:30) (Times may fluctuate).

Available but excluded

  • Large quantity copy, scanner machine (colour or black and white) – charged per sheet at reduced rate (as compared to commercial rates);
  • Other counselling rooms or larger spaces available as per schedule on an ad-hoc basis at reduced rates;
  • If larger spaces are available and where groups are accommodated (such as for practitioner workshops) there may be an additional charge if using available refreshments.

Excluded and notes

  • Please note that the support staff is not exclusively appointed for helping practitioners at the centre. General administrative support such as filing, email, diary and account management, and the like are not included;
  • If the person utilities the services of an assistant, that assistant can liaise with support staff to coordinate as required in view of bookings, central calendar management and more;
  • Being an organisation that values community and volunteer participation to fulfill our vision across the country we rely on volunteers from time to time;
  • If the person is a helping practitioner they are responsible for managing all aspects of their practice;
  • While there may be referrals to the person from time to time from Coram Deo this should not be the basis for a decision to maintain a practice at the venue.

Important note if the interested person is from a helping profession

Please note that Coram Deo values a pastoral and narrative approach. Counsellors at our centre work with topics ranging from trauma to couples conversations, addiction and many others, from the mentioned approaches. We are not prescriptive as to the approach the practitioner employs. It is more of a concern that not all practitioners might understand the epistemology and relational ethics undergirding  a narrative approach.
