Elmo Pienaar

Elmo Pienaar

Elmo Pienaar is the Managing Director of Coram Deo; The kind of organisation he thoroughly enjoys for allowing him the opportunity to live out both a passion for leadership, management and organisational development and also for helping individuals and families transition through adversity.

Subject to his role as Managing Director when opportunity affords, he enjoys consulting and training, counselling, facilitation, and coaching engagements through his consulting firm.

With his own story of divorce, ‘parenting-in-the-face-of-adversity’ has become his niche area. Though he is open to most areas of counselling, he is resolute in helping families work through challenges, hopefully stay together or where unavoidable separating in a child-focused collaborative way, in the best interest of the child.

This context includes:

  • Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Bonding therapy
  • Family reunification
  • Key guidance conversations*
  • more: elmopienaar.com
*Key guidance involves consultation in the space right before couples decide to either end their relationship or to proceed with mediation (instead of taking an adversarial legal route) | making parallel-/ shared-/ or co-parenting work | parental coordination | consulting on what empirical research informs us of regarding parental alienation, estrangement, residency

He is a passionate father, nurturing two preteen boys which have near carte blanch in his life.

He holds a PhD in Pastoral Family Therapy (UP) and is a Research Fellow (current NWU, UFS, formerly UP) and programme director for an Advanced Programme in Personal and Corporate Coaching at the University of Pretoria.
